I first started working as an art director in Perth a very long time ago. Later there was a stint in London and another back in Perth before I eventually found myself settling in Melbourne. Here I've worked as a Creative Director and then ECD.

I’ve worked on everything from power companies to power tools to fine single malt whisky. One of my longest running projects went for 24 years: I helped build the Bunnings Warehouse brand from two stores into a household name. And over the course I learnt a lot about what works when it comes to retail advertising and communication.

​

I’m also a grownup. For me it's all about solving the client's problem and getting the result that ticks everyone’s boxes. A solution that is both highly effective and takes full advantage of the creative opportunities. Partly that comes from having been a partner in the Melbourne office of The Brand Agency. I understand the business of advertising, not just the creative side.

‘Hands-on’ is definitely a label that fits. I enjoy the whole process, whether it be crafting and offering recommendations at C Suite level, briefing, concept work, client presentation or production. And I bring to the table my experience and knowledge of how one of the most successful retail brands in Australia was built and honed.

I’m happy to tackle the task alone or teamed with a copywriter, or to supervise teams on larger projects.
And since striking out on my own I've been enjoying a wider scope of work, getting into animated content development, writing and animating explainer videos, drawing storyboards and even taking a few photographs when clients ask for it.
